Willie Howard Hancock age 97 of Watertown died Monday evening, June 24, 2019 at Southern Manor in Lebanon. Born Dec. 5, 1921 in Smith County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Chambers Cato and was preceded in death by her husband, James Clarence Hancock in 1997; son-in-law, Brandon Lewis, Jr. and 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Willie Howard was a retired employee of the Alexandria Garment Factory and was a member of the Watertown First Baptist Church for 80 years. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Lewis of Charlotte, NC; son, Jim Hancock of Watertown; grandchildren, Brandon Lewis III and wife, Laura of Charlotte, NC, Kristy Cunningham and husband, James of Cookeville, Beth Brammer and husband, John of Charlotte, NC, Wendy Hancock Turnbill and husband, Melvin of Smithville; 8 great grandchildren. Funeral services 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Don Mathis officiating and music by Dawn Bass and Jean Jennings. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. till service time on Thursday. Active and honorary pallbearers, Brandon Lewis III, John Brammer, James Cunningham, Johnny Smith, Randall Fuller, Joe Fuller, Fred Morgan, Charles Cato, Jack Cato, Jack Reagan. Interment at Wilson Co. Memorial Park in Lebanon. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to Avalon Hospice. The family wishes to thank the staff at Southern Manor Living Center and Avalon Hospice for all their love and care.
