Ray Thomas Layne age 79 of Watertown died Tuesday evening, Aug. 18, 2020 at his residence. Born June 17, 1941, he was the son of the late Elmer Thomas Layne and Inez Wooden Ward and was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth Layne in 2012. Ray was a US Army veteran and retired from  an aircraft assembly plant in California. He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Kay Layne of Watertown; son, Raymond Thomas Layne of California; grandchildren, Bryan Thomas Layne, Alexa Clara Cabrera, Ashlee Elizabeth Pulido, Dylan Jacob Markel; cousins, Charles Wooden, Shirley Browning, Wade Robinson, Leslie Cassetty and other cousins and friends. A time of remembrance to celebrate the life of Ray Thomas Layne will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020 at Hunter Funeral Home.
