Anelda Marlene Bly age 64 of Alexandria died Tuesday evening, July 15, 2025 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Born Feb. 11, 1961 in Smithville, she was the daughter of Winnie Johnson Petty and the late Bill Petty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ricky Odell Bly; a son, Michael Bly; daughter Stephanie Bly and a brother, Wayne Petty.

Marlene was a graduate of Dekalb Co. High School, she was a mother and homemaker and spent several years in health care as a caregiver.

She is survived by her children, Lucus (Holly) Bain, Mary (Justin) Lohorn, Steven Bly, Brian (Kayla) Bly; son-in-law, Kenny Murphy; grandchildren, Katie and Cole Bain, Abel Lohorn, Alexis, Ally and Isaiah Bly, Justice and Kynleigh Bly, Pacey Ballew, Nichole Blackford, Brittany Reed, Tyler Murphy, Madison Farris, Kevin and Faith Bly, Ashley Bly Morgan; several great grandchildren; her mother, Winnie Petty; sisters, Rebecca Petty, Treva (Terry) Turner; brother, Randy Petty; nieces, nephews and cousins.  Special family, Tim and Melinda Robertson, Scott Carter, Lynn Gallagher, Renee and Brandon Thomas.

A service to celebrate Marlene's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Hunter Funeral Home with Brian Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. till service time on Saturday..  Interment will follow at Hillview Cemetery in Alexandria.
