Joseph David Nelms age 50 of Nashville, died Sunday, March 28, 2021. Born Aug. 28, 1970 in Nashville, he was the son of the late William Roger Nelms and Nell Heath Nelms. Joe operated Nelms Custom Upholstery in Old Hickory and was a member of Donelson Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Ionic Lodge 254 F&AM, a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Nashville Scottish Rite. He was a member of the Donelson Civitan Club and Donelson Jaycees. Joe was a past girls softball coach and was an archery teacher/volunteer in Old Hickory and a Camp Discovery Volunteer. He is survived by his wife, Kelli Galvanek Nelms of Nashville; children, Ashley (Travis) Baldridge of Otsego, MN and Josh Nelms of Nashville; grandchildren, Benjamin and David Baldridge of Otsego, MN, Levi and Lucas Nelms of Nashville; sisters, Sandra (Mike) Arnold of Hermitage and Gay (Larry) Urquhart of Lakemont, GA; brothers, Bill (Angie) Nelms of Dover, TN and Bob (Aileen) Nelms of Nashville; nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life and Remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the Donelson Presbyterian Church with Dr. Paul Casner officiating.
