Jeffrey Wayne
Flowers
Feb 1, 1957 — Sep 27, 2026
Watertown
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Wayne Flowers, 69, of Watertown, TN on September 27, 2026 at the comfort of his own home. On this day, the world lost a kind, true friend to many.
Jeff was preceded in death by his son Timothy Wayne Flowers, granny Jessie Helen Reagan Smecer, father Russell B. Flowers, mother Patricia Upchurch Flowers, and brother Steven Russell Flowers. He is survived by his brother Greg, the veterans whose lives he greatly impacted, and the large circle of devoted friends he made family.
Jeff, better known as Shorty, Bird, and Bodine was born February 1st 1957, in Byrdstown, Tennessee. Driven by his passion for knowledge and aptitude for connecting with others- he graduated from Warren County High school in 1975 to attend Tennessee Tech for pre-pharmacy with a minor in Psychology and graduated Ball State University with a bachelors degree in Business Management and Marketing. Shorty went on to complete a 25 year career as a Senior Account Manager with National Accounts at Georgia Pacific.
Jeff's deep patriotism and unyielding devotion to those who serve propelled him into his next chapter. In 2013, Jeff created Hunters for Soldiers, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing outdoor opportunities to active-duty service members, veterans, and first responders. What began with a single hunt soon grew far beyond its original scope. Jeff's work expanded to help veterans secure VA benefits and health-care, while also offering vital support with transportation and housing. Moreover, he was invariably ready to lend a sympathetic ear in moments of great need. His unwavering compassion and exceptional kindness touched countless lives. A patriot at heart, a brother to some, and a true friend to many—Jeff will be profoundly missed by all those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held November 21, 2026 at 12:00pm at his residence. We invite all who knew and loved Jeff "Shorty" Flowers to join us in celebrating and honoring his memory. In lieu of flowers, we encourage donating to the Hunters for Soldiers Foundation. We know he would wish to continue helping those in need of assistance and this would be best to continue his legacy. Information may be found on the facebook page Hunters for Soldiers regarding the Celebration of Life.
