Edgar Wilson Johnson age 93 of Lebanon, died Monday evening, March 30, 2020 at his residence. Born Aug. 31, 1926 in Greenvale, TN, he was the son of the late Wilson Homer Johnson and Novella Givens Johnson and he was preceded in death by a sister, Cornelia Johnson. Edgar served in the US Marine Corps and was retired from Ryder Truck Lines as a mechanic. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Edgar is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marie Stroud Johnson; daughters, Brenda Sims and her husband, Elton of Milan, Lisa Reynolds and her husband, Gary of Lebanon; grandchildren, Matt (Tarra) Sims of Trenton, Mitch (Amanda) Sims of Milan; Abby and Cullen McCoy of Chattanooga, Eliza and Nina Puckett of Lebanon; great grandchildren, Maddie and Turner Sims, Ansleigh, Evie, Olivia and Allie Sims, Abby; brother, James Fred Johnson of Lebanon; nephew, Eric (Hana) Johnson of Melbourne, FL; brother-in-law, David Stroud and his wife, Jane.  ; sister-in-law, Nina Stroud Armstrong and her husband, Kerry. Graveside services and interment will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Greenvale Cemetery with Bro. Charlie Pollard and Bro. Darrin Reynolds officiating. Pallbearers, Matt and Mitch Sims, Eric Johnson, Bob Beadle, Roy Stroud, Kerry Armstrong. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to The Community Church of Greenvale, Joseph's Storehouse or a charity of your choice. The Johnson family is grateful for the kind words and messages of condolence. They intend to schedule a celebration of life when friends and family can gather together safely and consistent with our obligations to the community.
