James David Prater age 59 of Carthage died Sunday, May 26, 2019 @ his residence. Born Sept. 17, 1959 in Cannon County, he was the son of the late Robert Wright Prater and Cora Lee Underwood Prater and was preceded in death by his sisters, Carolyn Faye Brown and Novella Hodges. David is survived by his wife, Janet Rich Prater of Carthage; brothers and sisters, Wilma (Lincoln) Sanders of Woodbury, Danny G. (Betty J.) Prater of Liberty, Litta Murphy of McMinnville, Cheryl McCowan of Woodbury, Michael (Donna) Prater of Woodbury, Dorene Murphy of McMinnville; niece/sister, Kathy Morton; nieces and nephews. Funeral service 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Christian officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. till service time on Wednesday. Interment at Hunter Memorial Park.
