Billy Anderson Batey age 76 of Watertown died Monday evening, Aug. 29, 2016 at his residence. Born Nov. 21, 1939, he was the son of the late Dink and Goldie Bandy Batey and was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Ray Batey in 2010 and by brothers, Don, Jim and Ralph Batey. Billy was retired from TRW Ross Gear where he was a mechanic for 38 yrs. He is survived by his sons, Billy (Tracy) Batey of Watertown, Dean (Cindee) Batey of Manchester, Joe Batey of Watertown; daughter, Sissy (Jimmy) Cozart of Statesville; grandchildren, Kezney, Kaitlin, Danielle, Josh, Zachary and Brandy Batey, Jan Cozart and Heather Johnson; great grandchildren, Natalie, Logan, Swanson, Kenya, Jordan, Carley, Kannon, Londyn; sisters, Darlene, Mary and Faye and brothers, Terry Batey and Carl Bandy; nieces and nephews. Funeral services 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Grisham officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and prior to services Thursday. Interment at Hillview Cemetery.
