Billy Nelson Alcorn age 78 of Watertown, died Wednesday afternoon, June 5, 2019 at Quality Care Health Center. Born March 28, 1941 in Putnam County, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Nettie Lois Williams Alcorn. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Francis Woods, Julana Martin, Janie Bierbaum and Kathy Parker; and the mother of his children, Brenda Scott Alcorn. Billy operated a Backhoe Service for many years and was a member of Wolf Creek Missionary Baptist Church were he served as a Deacon for many years. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Mabel Blackburn Moore Alcorn; children, Steve (Kathy) Alcorn of Lafayette, Jeffery Alcorn of Lebanon, Patsy Key of Alexandria; grandson, Jason Alcorn of Watertown and 2 great grandchildren; step daughter, Joyce (Gregory) Cook of Watertown; 2 step granddaughters, Allison (Chase) Argo and Amy (Mike Copley) Cook of Lewisburg. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Marie (Larry) Robinson of Temperance Hall, Sharon Hendrixson of Baxter, Jackie Reins of Woodbury and a brother-in-law, Danny Parker of Smithville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown with Bro. Herb Leftwich and Bro. Donnie Agee officiating. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Friday and prior to service Saturday. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Interment at Smellage Memory Gardens in Putnam County.
