Betty Marie Tarpley age 78 of Alexandria, died Friday evening, Jan. 1, 2021 at St. Thomas Dekalb Hospital in Smithville. Born March 6, 1942, she was the daughter of the late George and Carneal Spann Evans and was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Evans. Betty was a beautician and beauty instructor for many years and was a member of Round Lick Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ed Tarpley; sons, Eddie Tarpley of Alexandria and Terry Tarpley and his wife, Lisa of Auburntown; grandchildren, Brandy (David) Estes and Magen Phillips both of Woodbury, Ally and Bella Tarpley both of Alexandria, Dylan (Brenna) Tarpley of Lascassas, Dexie Tarpley of Auburntown; 5 great grandchildren. A time of remembrance to celebrate Betty's life will be held at a later date.
